RSAC
Riverdale, Utah Substance Abuse Court
ABOUT RSAC:
The Riverdale Substance Abuse Court is a unique approach to substance abuse court on the misdemeanor level. Participants charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, or misdemeanor alcohol offenses, DUI and illegal possession of alcohol, are eligible to participate.
Participants enter a plea of guilty. This plea is held in abeyance until the participant successfully completes the RSAC program. Upon graduation from RSAC the guilty plea is withdrawn and the criminal charges are then dismissed or the charge is reduced to a lower crime.
The program is open to nonviolent adult men and women who have a desire to become free of substance abuse.
Participants must complete a minimum of 52 weeks in the program by advancing through four phases of treatment and testing. The treatment and other requirements are intensive in the first levels of RSAC.
The program requirements become easier as the participants successfully demonstrate a substance-abuse-free lifestyle.
