The Riverdale City Senior Center is located at 4433 South 900 West.

The Senior Center phone number is 801-621-6086.

The Center is open daily 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.

COME JOIN US AT THE SENIOR CENTER
The Riverdale Senior Center is a place that seniors can gather, share old friendships as well as make new ones. The center offers a variety of activities and classes. We are here to strengthen and help seniors have a good life and hopefully touch each senior's life for good.

Lunch MenuLunch is cooked onsite and served each weekday at noon for only $3.00 a meal.
Take out lunches are available after all patrons who are eating in the

NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS

HOLIDAY MEAL SCHEDULE

The Thanksgiving lunch will be held on Friday, November 22nd at noon. Please come and join us for turkey with all the trimmings! The cost is only $3.00. To make your reservation please sign up at the Senior Center or call 801-621-6086.

Our annual Christmas dinner and program will be held on December 13th at 5:30 p.m. To sign up please call 801-621-6086.

FALL SALE AND CHRISTMAS DÉCOR SALE
Craft items are now for sale at the Senior Center. There are a variety of home-made items to buy for yourself or as a gift. There is also a variety of used Christmas items for sale through late December in the lounge. Stop by and take a look! Proceeds go to the Senior Center programs.

SENIOR OF THE MONTH
Our “Senior of the Month” is Doris Pancich. Doris is Native American, born and raised on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, Harlem, MT from the Assiniboine Tribe. She is a widow and has 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren. She attended Weber State University. She was employed and retired from the State of Utah, Sears, and JC Penny.

She has traveled to many states and countries. Her most memorable trip was to Israel. She was in awe of the history it holds. She enjoys aerobics and yoga classes and meeting the many wonderful people at the Senior Center.

SENIOR CENTER CLOSED
The Senior Center will be closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28th and on Friday, November 29th.

SENIOR CENTER HONORS VETERANS
This month at the Senior Center we would like to pay tribute to all those who have served our country and made countless sacrifices for our freedom. “The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.” - Jeff Miller.

NEW TEXTING SERVICE

  • You can now text the keyword “LUNCH” to 801-621-6086 to join a group that will send you a daily notification of the lunch menu at the Senior Center.
  • To join the activities and programs group, text “SENIORS” to 801-621-6086 and you will receive the schedule for the day at the Riverdale Senior Center.

SILVER SNEAKERS AT THE SENIOR CENTER
We are now accepting Silver Sneakers exercise program memberships at the Senior Center and Community Center. Help support our programs and classes by checking in with your Silver Sneakers membership next time you visit.

STAY FIT, EXERCISE AT THE SENIOR CENTER
The following free exercise classes are offered at the Senior Center:

  • Tai Chi is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:50 a.m.
  • Enhance Fitness is held on Mondays, Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
  • Senior Aerobics is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m.
  • Yoga is held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

  • Men's Fitness Class is held every Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

In addition to the classes, there is also an exercise room open during Senior Center hours with a variety of equipment to help you stay fit.

COMPUTER HELP
Senior Center will have a person in the computer room ready to give help and answer questions about computers every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Stop by and get the computer help you need!

BOOK CLUB
The Senior Center Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Come join us! It will be a great time!

MOVIE DAY
Enjoy a movie and fresh popcorn on November7 at 12:45 p.m.

FOOT CLINIC SCHEDULE
The Foot Clinic day is scheduled the second Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m. The location is the ceramics room. The cost for the clinic is $10.00.

SENIOR CENTER SCRAPBOOKING
An "on your own" scrapbooking group has been organized. It will meet on the second and fourth Thursday's of the month at 10:30 a.m. Come and join our group of scrapbookers.

Wii PLAY
Come play the Nintendo Wii at the Center. You can play tennis, golf, bowling, baseball, and boxing. We also have the Wii Fit!

VETERANS MEMORIAL
Veterans will be on call for those that need to order a Veterans tile. To visit the Veterans web page click here.

DONATIONS NEEDED
The Senior Center is in need of yarn donations for humanitarian projects.

SENIOR CENTER LIBRARY
The Riverdale Senior Center has a wonderful library for seniors to use. The library has a variety of books along with a collection of VHS and DVD movies. Seniors are welcome to come and check out any library item. Come check it out!

Donations Sought: We are in need of DVD's. If you have any DVD's you no longer want, please consider donating them and help us replenish our library.

SENIOR CENTER VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are always welcome to help out at the Senior Center. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities such as class instructors, front desk help, support help, and humanitarian work. If you would like to volunteer please contact the Senior Center at 801-621-6086.

If you are 55 and older and have not visited the Riverdale Senior Center, we invite you to stop by and see what you are missing! The Riverdale Senior Center is a great place to learn new skills, enjoy great food, relax, and make new friends. Here are just a few of the highlights:

EVERYDAY QUILT

Everyday Quilt
Seeing all the materials around her, Linda Phaff decided to make an "Everyday quilt". The everyday quilt is made out of material scraps from many different patterns. It is a beautiful "Magic Quilt!"
