From Mayor Norm Searle
Camee Ellis, long-time Riverdale resident is excitedly working on a project to help give community residents a glimpse of Riverdale history. Camee has teamed up with Arcadia Publishing, the nation’s leading local history publisher, to compile a photographic history covering the earliest days of the settlement to the present. Pictures are urgently needed to support this meaningful project. There are a minimum number of photos needed to move this project forward. Photos of early settlers and residents, early building and structures, farming and agriculture, life in Riverdale, businesses in Riverdale, events in Riverdale, people of Riverdale and any other photos of interest are needed. To share your photos and stories, please contact Camee at (801) 941-0278 or email@example.com by August 1, 2017. You can also bring your photos to one of the photo scanning events at the Riverdale City Community Center. Events will be held on Saturday, July 15th from 12-3 p.m. and on Monday, July 17th 6-8 p.m. (please see flyer below). The Special Collections Department at Weber State University is assisting with this worthwhile project. Their assistance is sincerely appreciated. Remembering Riverdale books will be sold at a cost to cover publishing of the books. Any proceeds, over the cost of the books, will be used toward preserving Riverdale’s history. I know that Camee would appreciate any help you can give her to find photos and stories of early Riverdale. Please call her with any information or questions you might have.
